Saturday Night At Pianos
With so many great bands in NYC, sometimes it can be hard to get out and see all the ones you’d like to see. So, when you come across a bill like this past Saturday night’s show at Pianos — that included The Muggabears, The Secret Life Of Sofia (their first show in six months), and Mancino — your decision on which show to go to on a given night is made much easier. We were at the show and can say it was one of the best shows we’ve been to in a while. Not only were the three previously mentioned bands great as usual, but openers Can Joanne (from North Carolina) and closers Nous Non Plus, neither of whom we’d seen before, impressed us as well. We shot video that we’ll soon be posting that will attest to how great a night it was (we’ve got a few videos already in the pipeline from other recent shows that will most likely appear first, though), but just felt like pointing out how satisfying it is to be able to go and see a great show as opposed to just a great band — not that seeing a single great band is a bad thing, of course.
