Photos: Naked Hearts at The Delancey

Naked Hearts are a new band that played their first show on January 30th at The Delancey. We don’t really know all that much about them except that, according to their MySpace bio, the guitarist and bassist fronting the trio have been involved in solo and group projects before this, which probably explains the confidence obviously on display at their premiere. The songs manage to achieve a delicate balance: stripped down without being overly-lean, sometimes bouncy without being too poppy, sometimes effectively melancholy without being emo. It was definitely an impressive first outing and we look forward to seeing them again soon, so it’s good that they have a number of shows already lined up, including one at Glasslands in Brooklyn this Wednesday. We suggest you take a listen to them on MySpace and go see them soon.
