Photos: Wintersleep at Union Hall

We recently caught a band at Union Hall called Wintersleep who hail from Halifax, Nova Scotia. Now, we’ve never been to Halifax, but if Wintersleep is indicative of what we might expect to find there in terms of a music scene, we are totally interested in checking it out. These guys sounded great — a really big sound with no excess, loud in all the right places and well aware of when to back off and let their sound just sort of linger for you to take it in.
