We caught an excellent show at Pianos back in December featuring El Jezel, Locket, and new band The Whisperians, along with an interesting Tuba/Drums dance duo called Wolff (that was badass, by the way). Here are some shots of El Jezel:

We’d been hearing about My Teenage Stride for a couple of years, but somehow always managed to miss their shows. Finally, we caught them at the After The Jump CMJ showcase at Knitting Factory back in October and were immediately displeased with ourselves for having missed out on them for so long. We saw them again in December at Brooklyn’s excellent DIY venue, Dead Herring, and were doubly impressed. Here are a few photos from that show (with more available on Flickr):
