Man In Gray officially releases their album, I Can’t Sleep Unless I Hear You Breathing, from Serious Business Records today. StereoactiveNYC had cameras rolling at the release party a couple of weeks ago and we’ll be posting videos of full songs soon. But for now, we have this clip from near the end of the set. We were, unfortunately, down to a single camera by this point, but managed to capture some of the frantic action as the audience joined in on “Your Baby Is Dead,” the final track from the album:

The May Hot Rocks Party featured a great band from New Orleans called Rotary Downs. The song featured in this video from the party, “A Feast In Squalor,” really encapsulates their sound — indie rock with a decidedly southern feel to it. They put on a hell of a show (which included no less than a belly dancer balancing fire on her head), so make sure to check them out the next time they’re in town.

On Saturday, Man In Gray celebrates the release of their first full-length album, I Can’t Sleep Unless I Hear You Breathing, with a show at Union Hall in Park Slope, Brooklyn. It will be the first time the album is available to the public before the official June 19th release date. Here’s the info:

And a live video of the opening track, “If You Ride It To The End, You’ll Get What You Came For,” from their recent Luna Lounge show:
When The Secret Life Of Sofia took the stage at Pianos a couple of weeks ago for the first time in six months, it was with a set of mostly new material. But they started off with a recognizable — and much welcome — song from their self-titled EP called “Diamond Face.” We’ll have video of some of the new stuff soon enough, but for now here’s that familiar song:

Every time we hear The Muggabears‘ “Dead Kid Kicks,” the riff gets stuck in our heads for about a week. It’s from their recently released Night Choreography EP and they played the hell out of it —along with the rest of their set — at Pianos a couple of weekends back:

Man In Gray’s first full-length album, I Can’t Sleep Unless I Hear You Breathing, isn’t officially out until June 19th and their release show isn’t until June 2nd, but you can hear the whole album tonight at The Delancey. The band is having a free listening party featuring door prizes, cheap drinks, and music before and after the album plays (which will be between 8pm and 9pm) DJed by Danny Barria of The Big Sleep. And if you want some free BBQ go RSVP at Going.com and be one of the first to show up tonight.
Here’s a live video of the band performing “Stranded,” which is on the new album, at Luna Lounge recently:

A couple of weeks ago we pointed out that the Unsacred Hearts were playing a now-unfortunately-rare live show. It was the one year anniversary party for Ruined Music and it was great to see the Hearts back on stage. Here’s a video from that night of “Point Of Pride,” the first track off In Defense Of Fort Useless, released last year:
