Photos: The Naked Hearts at Hot Rocks

The Naked Hearts played at the most recent Hot Rocks Party this past weekend at The Delancey. They’re a band we’ve seen a number of times now over the last few months since their debut. And each time has been a treat. For a band that started out with such promise and confidence, it’s impressive to see those traits only increase. Here are some photos from their set, with more available on Flickr:

Cruel Black Dove played at Hot Rocks on Saturday at The Delancey. Their dark and electronic-tinged big rock sound, with complimentary light show, provided quite a spectacle to end the live band portion of the night. Singer Anastasia Dimou has an impressive stage presence and vocal ability that meshes well with the skilled playing of her partners on the stage. Here are some photos from their set, with more available on Flickr:

Photos: El Jezel at Hot Rocks

April 10th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in el jezel, hot rocks party, live shows, parties, photos

We were happy to have one of our favorite bands, El Jezel, play at the most recent Hot Rocks Party. They’re a band comfortable mixing newer and older material into their sets, so it’s always interesting to hear the way the songs contrast and compliment each other in different combinations and contexts. As we’ve said previously, we’re really looking forward to their second full-length album, which they’ll thankfully be unleashing soon. And, hey, you can head to the StereoactiveNYC MySpace to hear, “Monument Valley,” an exclusive preview track. Here are some photos from the band’s set, with more available on Flickr:
